We’re in for a spell of snowy, cold weather this week so we thought it would be useful to collate a small guide on winter maintenance.
Keep safe on the roads and pavements this winter by visiting Stirling Council’s website to find out more about winter maintenance. There’s plenty of information about driving tips, priority gritting, location of grit bins, and the city’s maintenance plan for winter 2017/18.
And when icy weather is forecast and if you are able, please help protect your elderly or vulnerable neighbours by spreading some grit on pavements near your home. You can enter your postcode on the map on the council website to find your nearest grit bin.
We wish you all a very safe winter.

Just received the warning about the snow – a week too late!
Hi there, Apologies, we’re shaving a couple of teething problems with when the newsletter is sent. Hopefully it’ll be okay from now on. Regards, Michael
Hi there!
Whether I come tomorrow depends on state of pavements, but could someone tell me when the main Zebra crossing on Henderson Street, at the top of the Avenue, is going to be repainted/renovated/improved? I think the Council intends to do it but why has it stalled and when will it happen? Lots of pedestrians complaining…
(Also why does this Comment section print so pale? Difficult to read what I type…)
Thank you! Rant over!
Frances
Hi Frances, apologies for the delay in replying, we’re just getting to grips with the new website. Our understanding is the same as yours with regards to the pedestrian crossing. It’s in the schedule but we don’t know when just now. I will investigate the paleness of the comment box also. Kind regards, Michael
