Your Community Council is recruiting

We are looking for a new member to join the Community Council as co-opted members and help out with a range of projects, and are particularly interested to hear from you if you have skills in social media and communications, fundraising, digital and IT, or community organising.

The Community Council actively work on many different community projects and initiatives, with other groups in the area like Friends of Bridge of Allan and the development Trust – Discover Bridge of Allan. It is more important than ever that all sections and voices of Bridge of Allan are represented on the Community Council.  There are 10 public meetings a year usually held at the Allan Centre.

How to Apply

You can put yourself forward if you live in the Bridge of Allan area, are over 16, and are on the electoral register. To nominate yourself you should complete this Co-option Nomination form and return it to contact@ccbridgeofallan.org.uk by June 7th.

Nominations will then be voted on and approved at our June meeting. If you’re not sure and want to chat to one of us then please get in touch.

Bridge of Allan Community Council are recruiting.

We are looking for 2 new members to join the Community Council as co-opted members and help out with a range of projects.  We are particularly interested to hear from you if you have skills in social media and communications, stakeholder engagement, community organising, planning or fundraising.

Community Council Work

We actively work on many different community projects and initiatives, so it is more important than ever that all sections and voices of Bridge of Allan are represented on the Community Council.  We have 10 meetings a year usually held at the Allan Centre.

Taking action on dog mess, reuniting lost cats and dogs

Protecting and improving greenspaces and biodiversity, taking action on litter

Keeping the community informed on disruptions like road closures, commenting on planning applications

Working with partners such as Discover Bridge of Allan, Friends of Bridge of Allan and many other local groups

Join your Community at Coronation Events this Weekend

Join your Community at Coronation Events this Weekend

Meet up with friends and family at Coronation Events happening over the long weekend.

On Sunday 7th the Macrobert are hosting a Big Lunch event.

 

On Monday 8th at 11am join Friends of Bridge of Allan for a tree planting and naming of the Royal Garden.

 

Then head over to the Strathallan Games park for the Fun Day.  

The Fun Day invites the community to come together and create a lasting volunteering legacy from the Coronation weekend.  Come and find out about the opportunities for you to get involved across the village whilst your young people enjoy some activities being laid on for them.

Activities will likely include: firelighting, marshmallow toasting, popcorn making, candyfloss, soft archery, crafts, tug o war, Static Flight Simulator, Resuci Annies to practice your CPR, Historical Displays of BofA, Artifacts and a pipe crawl and calls allowing, Community Police & Mountain Rescue. The activities and displays are being delivered by local volunteer Groups as part of The Big Help Out  -Scouts, Guides, Air Cadets, Dr Welsh Trust, The Well House.

There will also be a BBQ on the go as well as representation from, Friends of Bridge of Allan, The Stroke Club, Teas Company, The Rotary, The Round Table, Parish Church and St Saviours Church.  Let’s hope the weather is kind to us!

Feel free to bring a picnic rug/chairs etc.

Young people need to be accompanied by an adult.
