Part of the Darn Walk is closed at the moment to enable bridge replacement works to go ahead at the Cock's Burn crossing. A path diversion is in place as shown in the image. The bridge work is happening inside the red circle. The diversion shown in dashed blue, takes you around via the Glen Road.
The diversion will be in place until the works are completed, which is expected to be 15th October.
** Updated completion date is now 5th of November due to issues with supply of materials **
Thanks you for warning everybody this path will be close for bridge works. The Land Reform Scotland Act (2003) makes it leagl to walk, cycle or ride a horse on a path like this. Describing it as a “footpath” creates conflict between those who are riding legally and those who see it called a “Footpath” on official notices. Please refer to this as a “Path” and reduce conflict between path users. Thanks
Hi Andrew, Good point thanks for sharing. However the top image was supplied to us by Stirling Council and Idverde. I will feed this back to them in the hopes they will be more accurate in the future.
