We’ve had an annual review from Bridgit Clark regarding the Glen Road Improvements over the last 12 months.
“Dear Volunteers
A bit later than usual – but it was a busy year!
This time last year we were unable to ignore the increasing hole and hanging fence at the ‘big slip’ any longer. So we asked our volunteer engineer for any affordable suggestions. And luckily Ian came up trumps!
Well long story short, we managed to get the various permissions and enough funds for urgent works along the road, and some extra for repairing drainage above. Much has been done, but some work will be finished this year.
Hopefully the combination of measures will help to reduce saturation, improve stability and safety – so extend the life of Glen Road for a few more years yet.
Massive thanks to Ian who yet again came up with practical solutions and co-ordinated the work, and to all our funders and donors, and Dunblane Development Trust for managing the funds. The public appeal uncovered an enormous fondness for Glen Road, and brought along Keith Brown to support us too.
And thanks to the annual leaf blowing crew assisted by Stewart, it has been an easy cycle through this winter.
In the next few weeks I will put out a public update with a questionnaire for users – to satisfy some of our funders.
Meantime best wishes for 2020.
Bridget”
Well done to Bridget & your team of volunteers
Great job, much appreciated.
